GDGWI Inbound Summer School 2012

GDGWI on 1st September, 2012 welcomed the student delegation from Lancaster University, UK. The delegation was addressed by the Exchange Programme Director Dr.Sushi Singh along with the Student Organisers of the Summer School. The LU students were a bit tired but were excited at the same time. A familiarisation session was organised wherein the students from Lancaster University introduced themselves and learnt about the campus, the facilities available and about what all awaits them in the coming three weeks.

GDGWI Outbound Summer School 2012

Summer School 2012 at Lancaster University was really useful specially for our students, who got real life exposure to activities ranging from socio cultural to environment, business, governance and political system of UK.

At the outset, students coming from different countries were split into 8 teams according to 8 undergraduate colleges of Lancaster University; like Cartmel College, Lonsdale College, Pendle College, Grizedale College, Fylde College, Furness College, Bowland College, and County College. If you pick up any of these teams, you can find presence of all the partner institutes of Lancaster University in the same. And all the summer school activities were focused around these 8 teams.

Summer school @ Lancaster 2011

Goenka Students are invited to attend two-weeks of summer school at Lancaster University to experience English culture and participate in a variety of out-of-class activities designed to help them develop a broad set of leadership and personal skills.

Genuine leadership abilities are developed beyond the confines of the classroom. The Lancaster Award encourages Lancaster University students to engage in a variety of activities outside their programme of study, to give them an opportunity to develop their potential as leaders and as involved and informed members of the community keen to contribute to its growth and development.
