  • 3rd August, ‘10 Orientation of MSc: An orientation session for the MSc. students was held on 3rd Aug 2010. The Programme Director, SDC, gave a power point presentation that showcased the various stimulating and enriching activities available.   The Programme Director urged the students to join any one club and participate in as many activities as possible.

  • 16th August, ‘10 SDC: An Orientation for PGDBM & BBA newcomers was held.  ‘Life at GDGWI’ was the theme of the presentation.  A brilliant 2 minute movie on the Institute was shown by the Programme Director.  It stole the show which enthused the entire gathering of students.

  • 19th/20th August, ‘10 SDC:  Individual orientation for different clubs was held.

  • 30th August, ‘10 CEO Club: A Business simulation game was presented by Mr. Ashwani  Goel (Faculty).  It was conducted with the collaboration of The Pearson Group.

  • 31st August, ‘10 YMC: SUMMER SCHOOL AT LANCASTER, A Presentation was given to the students to expose them to different aspects, possibilities and opportunities of the approaching summer school programme.

  • 28th September, ‘10 SDC: In order to instill values and further the development of soft skills, a class on self awareness and acquiring a positive attitude was organised for the PGDBM-I students in Lecture Theatre 212.  There was 100% attendance by the students who provided stupendous feedback.

  • 28th and 29th October, ‘10: The Sports Club organised a series of Intra College Volleyball matches for different batches and different courses to inculcate competitiveness, team spirit and camaraderie.

  • 12th November ‘10CSR Society and CEO Club: It was a time of change, and a poignant one at that, for the two SDC clubs.  Students from the new cohort took over the reins from older members.
  • It was extremely pleasing to note that the CSR Society’s and the CEO Club’s first activities were highly rewarding and smoothly conducted.  The students began their teaching experience by giving classes to the students of Khaika Village.  They did an amazingly laudable job putting their hearts and souls into it.  They got really involved with the village students and taught them with utmost sincerity and seriousness.

  • 11th and 12th February 2011 - Inter Collegiate Fest “RAAS”: The GDGWI conducted its very first Inter-Collegiate Fest “RAAS”. A selection of the very best colleges in and around Delhi.  IIFT, Fore School of Management, Bimetech, IMI Delhi, St. Stephens, Kirorimal College, Amity University, Amity School of Business were just some of the many that participated in this two day festival.

  • The events covered the Management and Cultural disciplines.  It saw some of the most creative and intellectual young minds create an exhilarating and cerebral experience.

    A number of events were conducted over the two days of the festival.  Several leading brand names generously came forward to sponsor the Management events including Numero Uno (Marketing Event), Zeus (Best Manager), A Vita (Debate) and Monoculo (Business Quiz).

    In the Cultural Events section, Kick to the Beat (Group Dance), Nautanki Nagri (Street Play), Counter Strike 1.6 to Green Carpet (Fashion Show) were just some of the entertaining and enthusiastic performances by the participants.

    The end of each day was capped by the brilliant music of Indian Ocean (11th February) and DJ Sumit Sethi and Buzz Funk (12th February).  Their performances were the icing on the cake.

  • 30th November, ‘10 & 1st December, ‘10: The Sports club organised a hugely successful 1st Athletic Meet on the GDGWI campus grounds. A very satisfying number of students, from all the batches, enthusiastically participated in it.

  • 5th, 6th and 12th March, 2011: GDGWI’s Sports Fest RAAS was held on the 5th, 6th and 12th of March 2011. The top ten colleges of the NCR participated in the Fest in a fiercely competitive and vibrant environment.
  • Sports Fest Raas 2011 was a memorable experience because it propagated the spirit of joy and demonstrated the values of team work and a sporting spirit.  The quite outstanding performances of students from Sri Venkateshwara College, the Delhi School of Economics and IIT Delhi created a buzz all around the campus.

    The inaugural holding of the Sports Fest Raas has set challenging benchmarks and standards for the future.

  • 14th to 26th March 2011: The GDGWI Gopi Ram Goenka Soccer Tournament was held from 14th to 26th March 2011.   Sixteen college teams from Delhi & NCR region participated in the tournament.
  • To publicise the tournament an innovative publicity campaign was launched on Oye 104.8 FM radio.  Starting on 8th March, announcement spots were repeated everyday at 1000h, 1100h, 1200h, 1400h, 1500h, 1600h and 1700h.
