In continuation to the constant endeavors of G D Goenka World Institute for facilitating industry interface for its students, the post graduate management students (PGDBM Batch of 2010-12 and 2011-13) visited the factory of Perfetti Van Melle India at Manesar, Haryana on Saturday, October 8, 2011.
Students pursuing PGDBM with specialization in Marketing, Finance, Human Resources, and International Business visited the Manesar plant.
The students were received by Mr. Rajiv Yadav , Senior Manager – Human Resources of Perfetti Van Melle India Private Limited. They were given a detailed presentation about the operations, supply chain, critical to business functions and different processes that are combined to manufacture a host of existence brands of Perfetti Van Melle such as Mentos mints, Chlormint gum, Happydent mint gum, Alpenliebe caramel chews, Center Fresh gum among others.
The students were then taken around the factory to visually experience the production and packaging cycle. Each process was explained to them by the experts from the operations itself in easy to understand and clear manner. The students could see for themselves how proficiently, hygienically and smoothly people at Perfetti Van Melle India were carrying out its manufacturing operation with a clear eye for details towards ensuring high level of quality. The students were also given complimentary gifts by Perfetti Van Melle as a token of appreciation.
The industrial visit to Parle factory was a success as students could relate to the management concepts discussed in the classroom with the latest industrial practices used to enhance quality and productivity at the shop-floor.

Industrial visit that took place on Saturday gave us hands-on experience of what we study in textbooks. We got to visualize how operations that place in practical terms. I enjoyed this visit and got to learn few things.
