Director-Engineering, Dr. S.N. Puri, GDGWI

Dr. S.N.Puri completed his Engineering degree from NIT, Allahabad. Subsequently he got his M.Tech from IIT Delhi and PhD from University of Aston in Birmingham UK. He joined Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) in early 1972 and developed various technologies required for Indian space programme. He was holding various positions in ISRO as Project Manager, Head strapdown system, Group Director Navigation system Group, Deputy Project Director PSLV/GSLV programme of ISRO, Dy. Director, Launch Vehicle Inertial system. He has published & presented many papers in International Journals & Conferences and written a book on “Modern Inertial Sensors and Systems” (Prentice Hall Pub). Dr. Puri was a distinguished visiting professor at Indian Institute of Science Bangalore for three years. In Academic field he was Dean, faculty of Engineering & Technology, Mody Institute of Technology and Science (MITS) Rajasthan, where he initiated M Tech & PhD programmes besides starting new B Tech courses; he was founder Director of World Institute of Technology, Sohna, Gurgaon where he started various engineering courses and infrastructure built up including various laboratories for engineering programmes. He was Director of Panipat Institute of Engineering & Technology, Samalkha Panipat where he put efforts to raise academic standard of the Institute. Dr. Puri is the member of various scientific bodies in the country and having very good exposure of national and international syllabus followeds in various fields of engineering and technology. Presently he is the Director Engineering at G D Goenka World Institute.
