Within a period of less than four years, GDGWI has gained recognition as an Institution which offers high quality, contemporary and globally relevant management education in India. We are now taking actions to establish an equally preeminent position in India’s management research, training and consultancy space. It is remarkable that a young institution has achieved so much within such a short period. These achievements are the outcome of the enormous contribution of our students, alumni, faculty and staff. Equally important has been our management team’s uncompromising commitment to the Institution’s vision and mission - we “walk the talk". So what is the GDGWI difference? Contemporary teaching and learning practices informed by research and knowledge of experiences in premier business schools worldwide. Our course content, pedagogy and assessment methodology are based on global best practices. We transferred expertise in teaching and learning from triple accredited Lancaster University, amongst the foremost management schools in the world. Our courses are designed to provide knowledge on the latest management thinking. However, we focus not only on the transfer of knowledge but in developing skills to analyze and interpret information and make informed decisions. Work environment and practices that facilitate high quality teaching and learning. We audit faculty workload, review faculty expertise and take corrective actions. We adopt systematic, rigorous and transparent faculty selection and promotion protocols and are committed to promoting excellence in teaching and scholarship. We support faculty to (a) complete PhD studies at Lancaster University (b) develop teaching, scholarship and research skills through completing Lancaster University’s “Certificate in Academic Practice”, and (c) enhance research and publication performance through mentorship and faculty development programs. Strategies and actions which emphasize the holistic development of students, faculty and staff through workshops and training programs (faculty and student exchange, collaborative projects with foreign institutions); activities of the “Student Development Cell” (programs aimed at supporting disadvantaged communities/groups); activities of our “Corporate Resource Centre” (programs targeted at making our students employment ready); encouraging faculty to pursue research relevant to the social and economic development of the community (social enterprise, micro finance, and small scale enterprise); guest lectures and faculty seminars to provide a platform for scholarly discourse; and a “buddy program” to help students navigate study and life in a demanding higher education environment. We are in the midst of actioning several other initiatives, including hosting a series of major international academic conferences in India. At GDGWI we dream big and realize our dreams through systematic and rigorous planning and unwavering commitment to make things happen. We have a resourceful and committed faculty, staff and management team and are confident that we have the capability to accomplish our vision and mission.
