| Collaboration GDGWI |
|
GDGWI gives its student an internationally recognised degree. This is achieved through its close collaboration with one of the top ten universities in the UK - Lancaster University. The partnership was established in 2009 and combines the strengths of the two institutes. GDGWI has a highly regarded wealth of educational experience in India, while Lancaster’s world class academic and research reputation equips students to meet the challenges of a globalised world. The relationship brings many advantages that include curricula and assessment patterns governed by the Quality Assurance Agency, UK. Through the partnership GDGWI students get access to Lancaster’s academic structure that emphasises criticality in learning rather than just fact checking and information seeking. The bonds are further strengthened by a regular exchange of faculty and students between Lancaster and GD Goenka. This has proved to be an excellent platform for exchange of ideas and for emerging research collaborations between the academics in UK and India. Lancaster University has also provided excellent career development opportunities through certification for teaching in higher education and eModeration. From August 2009 Lancaster and GDGWI started select undergraduate and postgraduate programmes at the World Institute. New Engineering degrees, starting in autumn 2011, are Mechanical Engineering, Electronic and Electrical Engineering and Computer Systems Engineering. Lancaster’s Mechanical Engineering is rated 5th in the UK Guardian league tables. What strengthens and brings the two institutes closer is the shared commitment to student welfare and success. Our partnership provides them with an international perspective and a cultural understanding by working side by with each other. |
