 G D Goenka World Institute and Lancaster University (United Kingdom) have joined hands to bring to India one the world’s foremost management and engineering programs.Lancaster University is consistently ranked amongst the world’s leading universities in all major league tables: QS World University Rankings, The Times Higher Education World University Rankings, and Academic Ranking of World Universities. GDGWI offers six undergraduate and two postgraduate management programs and three undergraduate engineering programs. Lancaster University oversees quality assurance, benchmarks teaching and learning practices with programs at its United Kingdom campus, conducts faculty development programs, and assigns faculty to teach some programs. Consequently, the course content, pedagogy and assessment modalities of our programs mirror programs offered by Lancaster University in the United Kingdom. Students who attain specified academic, attendance and disciplinary criteria can elect to transfer to Lancaster University in the final year of their program and or participate in an annual Summer School Program at Lancaster University. Our programs not only disseminate contemporary knowledge in academic disciplines but also foster reflective learning and critical inquiry. Students can pursue three foundation courses to improve their fundamental analytical, communication and study skills to cope with the rigor and intensity of our highly demanding programs. Our faculty engages one-on-one with students through a “buddy program”. This is to overcome hierarchical student-faculty relationship and establish a low-power distance culture based on mutual respect, trust and informal engagement. We enhance students’ soft skills and their emotional intelligence and thereby prepare students for careers and other challenges in life. We also support the holistic development of students through a variety of co-curricular and extra curricular activities tailored to synthesize their intellectual, physical, social, emotional and spiritual development. There is demonstrable evidence that GDGWI has substantially achieved its mission of providing high quality education that meets the needs of a rapidly modernizing and globally inter-connected work environment. Reputed organizations such as Deutsche Bank, HSBC Bank, Capital IQ, Grail Research, Heriot Watt University, and Tata Power Corporation have employed our graduates. Several other students have joined their family enterprises and are contributing to the growth and development of these businesses. GDGWI’s achievements within a span of four years are the outcome of our uncompromising commitment to our vision and mission to build a truly world class higher education institution in India.
